Will Your Attitude Affect Your Marketing?
But of course!
This evening I had a mini-argument with someone near and dear to me. He said that thinking good thoughts wasn’t going to get anyone further ahead – you had to get up off the couch and get busy if you want to accomplish anything.
Of course, I agreed. Sitting on the couch thinking about what you’re going to do won’t help a bit. BUT… my point was that if you don’t expect anything good to happen, nothing good will happen.
If you set out to market a new product or service with the idea in mind that it isn’t going to work, then how much real effort will you make? Not a whole lot.
But if you believe you can do it the effort you make will be tremendous. You’ll go at each task with enthusiasm, and you’ll do a better job. Not only that, your enthusiasm will transfer to the people around you, so they’ll be more encouraging and supportive.
Your potential customers will feel it too – because energy transfers every time you speak to someone. Sometimes even when you don’t speak. I think all of us have had the experience of running into someone in such a dark mood that just being near them felt awful. The opposite is true, as well. People with energy and enthusiasm give off a magnetism that draws people – even customers – toward them. (It’s called the Law of Attraction.)
Henry Ford said it a long time ago: “If you think you can or you think you can’t – you’re right.”
So get out there and market with enthusiasm, believe in what you’re doing, and belief in your success!
Whatever your goal… you can do it!

P.S. I just saw this in an email, so I stole it:
