Planning for the next marketing “event”

Time flies so darned fast! Before we blink twice it will be 4th of July. As marketers, we need to plan for that. But first… we have Father’s Day – and graduation, if we really hurry!

Because each day flies by in a blurr, start planning right now.

Take time today to think about how you can tie these upcoming events to your own product or service, and then sit down and write out ideas for a promotion.

Don’t try to make it perfect, just get those ideas down on paper. If you don’t, they’ll have disintegrated the next time you try to remember them. Then, for the rest of the day, let your subconscious work on it. When another idea pops in, find a piece of paper or your handy recorder and capture it.

Sometimes I think what we need are waterproof recorders – because so many good ideas come floating in during a shower. I wonder if it’s the flowing water that causes that?

Don’t know, but once you’ve got some ideas, get to work on putting at least one of them into action! Tomorrow… not next week. If you wait until next week you’ll suddenly realize it’s next month and the opportunity will be lost.
