How to Stay Motivated to Reach Large Goals
You’re working toward a goal – perhaps to earn a living from the internet, or perhaps to build another business you own. But sometimes the small steps you need to take to get you there seem overwhelming.
Just when you get one little piece done you realize there are 17 more little pieces you need to do before you’ll reach that goal. About that time the whole thing becomes overwhelming and it would be easy to just quit.
But you know you don’t want to quit. You want to reach that goal!
So how can you keep yourself moving forward? By taking your eyes away from the end goal and looking at the little pieces. They’re all important or you wouldn’t need to do them, so set each one as a mini-goal and reward yourself each time you cross one of them off the list.
If money is tight, you don’t have to spend any to reward yourself. Just do something to mark the occasion. It could be something as simple as going out in the yard to shout “I did it!” to the world. It could be choosing a favorite song that you love to sing along with – and playing it each time you reach one of those small goals.
Perry Marshall shared a great story about this yesterday and I knew I wanted to share it with you, but now I’ve been reading the comments on his blog as well. They really made me stop and think about what a pleasant life I have compared to so many people. My small challenges are nothing compared to what others are enduring.
That alone can be good motivation – seeing that people with huge obstacles to overcome are still in the game, plugging along toward their goals.
Remember, having genuine gratitude for what you DO have and do accomplish does help you get more of it. The Law of Attraction never stops working, so each time you focus and celebrate accomplishment, you’ll pull greater accomplishment toward yourself.
What accomplishment should you celebrate today?
